FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
LANDSCAPE MODE ONLY
What should I record?
Anything you find interesting on the day. It could have you in it, or it could have other people in it, or it could have no one in it. Get some shots up close, like conversations, food, and decorations. Get some from far away, of events, streets, mosques. Have people tell stories.
Where can I get ideas on what to record?
If you still can’t figure out what to capture, we have some ideas on our web site, eidfilm.com.
Do I need to edit my video before submitting?
No, just send us the raw footage and we’ll take care of the rest.
How do I upload my videos?
See upload instructions on our web site, eidfilm.com
What kind of camera should I use?
We prefer the high quality footage produced by DSLR, but any camera that records 1080P HD or better is fair game.
Are smartphones OK?
Smartphones are OK as long as they record 720p HD or better. If you use a smartphone, make sure you hold it sideways (landscape mode) and make sure the lighting is good, especially at night.
Are you accepting UAV (aerial drone) footage?
Yes! We think aerial footage is beautiful and will certainly incorporate it in the video.
Do I have to be Muslim or live in a Muslim country to participate?
No. Eid is celebrated in every country with a Muslim population, no matter how small. In fact we believe some of the most interesting and unique footage will come from remote places where Islam is not widespread.
Will my footage be used for commercial purposes?
No. Anything you submit will be used solely for the purposes of the documentary unless we have permission from you.
